Before you pay, check the produce

Most people are honest, but some cheat. Keep these in mind every time.

1. See the produce yourself before you pay. Never pay an advance to hold a deal.
2. Meet in a public place, in daylight. Avoid going alone.
3. Never share an OTP or your UPI PIN. To receive money you never need to enter a PIN or scan a QR code.
4. To receive money, give only your account number and IFSC, or your UPI ID.
5. Be careful with very cheap offers and 'urgent need' stories (illness, trouble). Cheats use them.
6. Calls from people saying they are police, army or customs officers can be fake. Do not pay them.
7. No real company asks for money to give a job.
8. Buying a vehicle or machine: check all its papers and any loan on it before you pay.
